8 Time Saving Outlook Tips

  1. Create rules to rid the inbox of junk. Send junk mail directly to the trash.
  2. Create specific folders for messages.
  3. Create rules to have new messages go directly into folders.
  4. To add an item to the calendar, double-click on date because it’s faster. Set the reminder to at least 1-hour to allow adequate travel time.
  5. Instead of sending a basic email or meeting request to numerous people, simply create a distribution list, and then the send meeting request. This allows participants to accept, decline, or propose a new meeting time; and it allows the sender to track response results.
  6. Calendars can be shared with numerous people. And up to 30 calendars can be viewed side by side in Outlook. Or the calendar can be published at Office online for said persons to view.
  7. To create a distribution list, select file, new distribution list. Simply name list, select members, and click ok.
  8. After reading an email, to add the address to contacts; right click in address, select add to outlook contacts, and fill in appropriate information.
